How Can severe Acute Arthritis Be Treated?

What are the best foods for me to eat. I was diagnosed with acute arthritis. Swollen ankle & swollen knee. I take pain killers & ice the area & try to keep leg elevated when I sit. I was using a cane to walk but now I need a walker to give me more balance.
